Our Edwardian House – The Final Before & After Pictures

  • Facebook
  • Twitter

The most fun part of any renovation project that we tackle is looking at the before and after pictures. Seeing just how far you’ve come is by far the easiest way to stay motivated and it always gives us a huge boost to know how much we’ve managed to achieve.

Although we never quite got round to finishing everything we would have liked we couldn’t be happier with what we did manage to change and improve – hopefully, you’ll be able to see and improvement, too!

We’re not going into any specific project details here but If you do want to know about a project you can check the archives or drop us an email over at general@littlehouseonthecorner.com and we’ll be happy to help if you have any questions.

At the moment we’re still busy house hunting here in Berlin. As always things are taking longer than we’d like (yep, you can call me impatient) but we’re viewing another apartment at the weekend so with a bit of luck we’ll be able to get our sledgehammers out again very soon!

How do you stay motivated during building work? Do you love looking at before and after pictures as much as we do? Do you have a favourite home improvement project?

Hi Christine , the house is lovely, I love the colours you have used in each room, they fit each room so well. Can I ask what colour you used in the room beside the kitchen, the darker blue colour. I live in a 1920’s house and rooms are not large but tall ceilings, I want to do my office /dining room this kind of blue colour, however everyone keeps saying it may be too dark for all walls but I have fallen in love with the look and have 70’s Sideboard and lots of different chairs and a big white ikea table I was given. I think it will work as the room gets the sunlight all day. Good luck with your new adventures and new home, I can’t wait to see your progress xxxx JJay

Thank you, JJay! The colour on the walls is RAL 5008 which we had mixed at Dulux (we call it Little House On The Corner Blue).
I would totally recommend painting your walls a dark colour – it’s the best thing we ever did! Our room actually didn’t feel much darker but it felt so much more cosy and finished after painting it dark. I also think that your 70’s sideboard would look amazing against the dark background!
Go for it – what’s the worst that can happen? It’s only paint…

Thanks very much for the colour info. My girlfriend has given me the mission of painting our Victorian lounge with the same wall colour after she found your photos on pinterest.

Can you please confirm the colour of the walls and the skirting board here:

        ?

I looked up RAL 5008 and it seems a lot darker that is shown in the photos. (See here: https://www.ralcolorchart.com/ral-5008-grey-blue ), so I want to be sure before I buy.

        Thank you :)

The living room colours is Steel Symphony 4 by Dulux. All woodwork is painted in a Pure Brilliant White Eggshell finish. The RAL 5008 colour is in the other room! ;)
You can see what we used where in the Sourse List Section on our blog. If it’s any help, you can see what we got where in the source list section on the blog.
          Hope that helps, Keiron!
Would love to see a pic when you’ve finished!

I’m a little sad I won’t see the renovated kitchen or the sunroom or loft, but onward and upward I suppose. You do beautiful work and I hope you made a bundle :) I’m excited to follow the future apartment!

It’s a weird mixture of emotions for us, too. We were house hunting at the weekend and for the first time, we saw somewhere that got us completely excited about the next step. It’s a case of keeping everything crossed at the moment but hopefully, we’ll have some good news to share soon!

What a beautiful transformation! We’re in the process of buying our first house which will require quite a bit of restoration and it’s so inspiring (and reassuring!) to see what it’s possible to achieve!

Can’t wait to see your next renovation xx

Fantastic (and a little bit heartbreaking) to see how much of yourselves you put into that house. Looking forward to your new adventure

Thanks, Kerrie! We were definitely a bit sad at first but there’s a new and exciting adventure ahead! We also learned a huge amount which will hopefully help us with our next renovation.
