If you’ve been following us for a while, it’ll probably come as no surprise that I’m fussy when it comes to most things and that’s especially true of anything I furnish my home with.
It’s rare that Jan and I find anything and both agree that it’s perfect for us and our home but when we saw the gorgeous Beat Floor Lamp by Tom Dixon while browsing the shops in London before the Amara Interior Blog Awards for which we were shortlisted last year, we both instinctively knew we just had to have it in our home!

Fast forward a couple of months and we finally have our very own Beat Floor Lamp in our bedroom/living room/dining room/guest bedroom.
Okay, so we’ve been having a few disagreements as to where to place it as it looks gorgeous everywhere! When designing a space, there are pros and cons to every decision.

We love the lamp so much, that the easiest solution would be just to buy a couple more but given that that may end up a bit repetitive we are going to have to make a decision on where to place it!
We’re hoping that you’ll help us decide on where it looks best and where you think we should place it!
There’s a poll at the end of the post where you can vote on where you think it looks best!
Let us know what you think!

If even possible, the beat floor lamp is even more gorgeous than we remember! It goes without saying that it’s super high-quality and I love how the shiny brass inside complements the matt black outer coating.

Another thing we love about the lamp is the foot which is made out of cast iron. It feels really sturdy and the slightly textured finish of the cast iron contrasts really nicely with the smooth black and brass of the rest of the lamp.

I think the lamp looks amazing in our guest bedroom with panelled walls, but I admit that I’m hesitant to place it in here as I’d like to have it somewhere in the apartment where it can be seen more often. I’m also not sure that our guests have deserved such an amazing lamp (just don’t tell them that!).

We love the Beat floor lamp so much, that we’ve already said that we might treat ourselves to the table lamp version which would be perfect for the desk in our guest bedroom. so that our guests can enjoy a smaller version of the lamp, too!

Getting your lighting right can really make or break a room scheme and I’m not going to lie, it’s something we still struggle with. When it comes to room design, I’m always a firm believer in buying things you truly love and this is no different when it comes to lighting.

Yes, gorgeous lamps are an investment but they are also something that can bring you joy for a long, long time and are worth splurging on, especially when they are as gorgeous as our new Tom Dixon lamp.
So, where do you think our stunning new floor lamp looks best?
