My sister and family are visiting us over the Easter holidays. We love to make our guests feel welcome, so have had a good tidy (and clean) in the guest bedroom.
We shared the complete mess that we call a guest bedroom and our future plans for the room with you a few weeks ago (you can read more about it here).
We haven’t managed start renovating to the room yet, but a tidy and sort out has already made a huge difference.
Best of all, Jan has officially given me permission to start taking the room to pieces as soon as our guests leave. I can’t wait to scrape away the pink wallpaper!
To make our guests feel at home, we’ve also made a little guest basket for them. You can read more about our painted basket project here.
As well as a few necessities, we’ve also added a few little luxuries to the basket. So in addition to some bottled water, toiletries and an adapter plug, there’s a small bottle of champagne, some chocolates and a teddy for my little nephew.
We also popped to our local tourist information centre and added some brochures of attractions and sights worth visiting as well as some maps and guide books of the area. The most important thing in the basket is probably the umbrella! Yep, it rains a lot here!
Do you have a guest basket for your visitors? Do you do anything to make your guests feel welcome? Have we missed anything that should be in the basket?
