We’ve done it. We’ve finally been able to find a lampshade for our bedroom ceiling pendant. We have been looking for one for quite a while, and finally I managed to find one that I not only love, but more importantly is in budget. At just under £40 I of course immediately snapped it up.
So now, we’ve gone from this
To (drum-roll please) this
Our bedroom has undergone a huge amount of work and you can read more about it here, here and here, but sometime it’s the little things that make the biggest difference.
It was really easy to fit, as it just slotted onto the light fitting. All in all it probably took us about 2 minutes to put up.
At night it gives off a lovely warm glow and when the window is open the capiz shells chime quietly in the breeze. It’s almost like being on holiday, almost…
This is what it looks like when you get close, like when standing or jumping on the bed (not that that happens too often).
The colour goes really well with our curtains and skimming stone wall colour.
Just in case you are wondering, we still don’t have pictures in the frames over the bed and we still haven’t found a mirror for over the fireplace, but hey, at least we now have a lampshade!
We’re still considering attaching a ceiling rose similar to the one in the living room (you can read about it here). But on the whole the room suddenly feels so much more finished!
What do you think of our choice? Do you think the capiz lamp shade suits the room? Do you think we should attach a ceiling rose?
