After months of on-off working on our guest bedroom, we’re finally nearing completion. As always, there are still a few things that need sorting, but the finish line is finally in sight! Really we would have liked it to be finished a long time ago, but as usual things around here have a tendency not to go exactly to plan and with so many other projects on the go, finishing the bedroom hasn’t been a priority.
For the first time this year, we have some friends and family visiting soon, so we really should try and get this room completed. Whilst we still have a few little projects to finish (like having a new window installed) we’re definitely already thinking ahead to the finishing touches. We’ve gradually been adding some artwork, some new furniture and a few personal touches, now we have some fancy new bedding, too!
The plan for the bedroom had always been to create a calming and relaxing space for our guests and the cool grey walls and crisp white bedding from Argos definitely give it the peaceful feel that we were aiming for.
The pin tucked detail of the bedding is really beautiful and adds a lovely texture to the duvet & pillowcases. It makes the bed look so inviting like you just want to dive in and stay there all day!
We generally like to have white bedding and towels, as they immediately give everything such a clean and crisp feel. The bedding (which is available here) is made of 100% cotton and feels so soft and comfortable that it really isn’t going to make getting out of bed in the mornings any easier! The best thing about it isn’t actually that it’s pretty or comfortable, because of the pin tuck detail it looks great even without ironing it! That’s always got to be a winner!
We still have a few things left to sort in this room until we can finally call it complete, but considering it used to look like this
and now looks like this
we’re pretty chuffed with the improvement so far. Fingers crossed that our guests love the new room as much as we do!
Do you love our new bedding as much as we do? Do you have any guest bedroom tips to make our visitors feel more at home?
