After sharing how we restored our fireplace, you can imagine how happy we were when Cheryl and Vanessa got in touch and shared their amazing period fireplace restorations with us.
Cheryl’s Fireplace
Before Cheryl restored her fireplace, it was covered in yellow paint. Removing it involved a load of messy stripping and hard work, but it was so worth it.

Just take a look at the fireplace now!

Can you believe that someone had painted this beauty in ugly yellowish paint? Cheryl has certainly managed to achieve an amazing transformation!
Vanessa’s Fireplace
This is what Vanessa’s fireplace used to look like.

If like us, you’re thinking the fireplace didn’t look too bad before Vanessa restored it, just wait till you see the transformation.

Like us when we restored our guest bedroom fireplace, Vanessa used Peel Away to strip away the layers of paint.
After a lot of work, this is what her fireplace looks like now!

What a difference! Just take a look at the amazing detailing that was hidden under layers of paint.

Can you believe that this gem used to be covered under layers of paint? You can also check out some more of Vanessa’s home here.
Thank you again to Vanessa and Cheryl for sharing their wonderful restored fireplaces with us!

I have the EXACT same fireplaces as Cheryl in the top photo – a bird on the left hand side with butterfly on the right. Have started removing the paint with Peel Away on the 1st one … another 3 to go!

That’s so lucky, Kathy – it’s gorgeous! Have fun restoring them, it’ll be so worth it!

Amazing transformations! It’s so rewarding that you inspired people! Unfortunately, there was none of the original fireplaces in the cottage I bought. I did find an old mantel that I bought from people who were removing the original mantels from their old house!

I always find it surprising that anyone would remove original features. We only had one original fireplace left in the house and refitted ones in the living room and guest bedroom. Cheryl and Vanessa both did an amazing job of restoring their fireplaces!

We have an incredible fireplace that we restored – also using Peel Away to (eventually!) strip around 20 coats of paint. I just haven’t managed to blog about it yet – but I will soon. I think it may be my favourite feature in our house.
The one’s you’ve shown in the post look amazing too! It’s so much effort but totally worth it.
