We’re so excited about today’s announcement!
We’re opening an AirBnB!
We’ve only been in Berlin for a short time and already love living here. We hope that through opening our guest bedroom to visitors we’ll be able to share the fun and excitement of this amazing city! And as we love to travel and discover new places, sharing our home seemed like the perfect way to help others travel more, too!
I’m not going to lie, letting random strangers into our home is
a bit extremely scary, too. We did a lot of research before deciding to give airbnbing (well, if googling is a word surely airbnbing is, too?) a go. Obviously not every experience we read about was positive but the overwhelming majority of Airbnb experiences that people shared seemed to be good ones, so fingers crossed!
I guess that only time will tell how it works out for us and if it turns out that we hate it we can just stop again!
Opening an Airbnb is actually something we’ve been thinking about since first moving into our new apartment and I’ve even had a draught of this post set up since May!
But, we’re not quite ready to host guests just yet as our guest bedroom aka. Airbnb room still needs some serious TLC.
In an ideal world, I would have shared this news along with a beautiful and, more important, finished guest bedroom but as we just can’t seem to find the motivation to start tackling the room makeover we’re hoping that sharing our AirBnB news here will help us stay accountable and actually get some work done.
After all, there’s nothing quite like sharing your plans with the world to help you actually stick to them! We already shared our makeover plans for this room a couple of weeks ago.
I’ve finally bought a tonne of paint (we need 20 litres to just paint this one room!) and new curtains that don’t just stop and hover a metre over the floor are on order. I’ve even chosen a new bed for the room, too!
We’re planning on sharing regular room updates over the next couple of weeks (probably months) but hope to get the Airbnb opened this year! Eek! We definitely have our work cut out as we want it to be the best Airbnb guest room in Berlin!
It’s scary and exciting all at once but I’m so excited to start our Airbnb adventure.
Have you ever stayed in an Airbnb? What was your experience like? Or, have you ever tried hosting on Airbnb? What do you think belongs in a perfect guest bedroom? We’d love to hear your experiences and any advice you may have!
