We’re nominated for an Oscar!
Okay, so not exactly an Oscar but it might as well be! It’s the Amara Interior Blog awards which are kind of the Oscars of the home improvement world.
I’m honestly so excited and flattered to be nominated. I know that that’s something that everyone says but after the rather turbulent whirlwind of a year it really means more to us than ever!
We’re nominated in the Best DIY & Home Improvement Blog category which is for blogs who tackle large DIY projects, whole room transformations and share do it yourself tips and projects – pretty perfect for us, don’t you think?!
I should say that we’re not expecting to win or even make the shortlist as there are some other amazing (and much, much larger) blogs nominated but we’d love to give it a try!
If you’ve ever found anything we’ve shared useful, inspired you to tackle your own home improvement project or encouraged you to improve your home yourself we’d love it you’d take the time to vote for us!
Voting literally only takes seconds and it would mean the world to us to make the shortlist!
We can only do that with your help!
To vote all you have to do is pop over here and fill in your name and email. That’s all there is to it!
The Amara Blog awards are also a great place to discover some other fab blogs! There are so many talented people out there sharing some amazing projects. So, as much as we’d love your vote, it’s definitely worth heading over there even if you don’t want to vote for us (please do, though!).

Thank you so much! xxx

Hi Christine and Jan, I’ve been reading your excellent blog (I discovered it recently…from Australia) and I’ve just voted for you! Btw, would you be able to sometimes post about the history of your apartment and what’s special about your everday living in Berlin? I travelled (briefly) to Berlin on an organised tour in 1988…I think a year or two before the Wall began to come down. Also your blog photography is lovely! Hope you get shortlisted! E.

Thank you so much, Elizabeth! We’ll definitely share a post about the history of our apartment and living in Berlin – great idea! Some of our neighbours have been living in the building for over 50 years so I’m sure they’ll have a story or two to tell! One thing I have heard is that the building (apparently) used to be owned by the Greek embassy!
Thanks again for voting!
