We’re in!

Our New Home!

It still doesn’t feel real. It hasn’t really sunk in that we now live in Berlin let alone in our dream apartment!

Here are a few fun facts about our new home!

Our New Home In Numbers

We’re obviously still living in complete chaos and there are boxes and bits of furniture all over the place. Hopefully, it’ll be the last move for a long time!

As much as I’d like to get stuck into the first home improvement projects we do have a lot of sorting and unpacking to do first but we’re planning on starting work on our first project this weekend!

We already can’t wait to share loads of updates and before & after picture!

Thanks, Anna! It’s totally mad, isn’t it! I should point out that they’re double windows – one on the outside and one on the inside which is why there are so many.

We already have so many plans – can’t wait to share! I love the naked ladies, too. Will try to take a better picture of the naked ladies, it’s amazing how detailed the plasterwork is!

I adore it. The pocket doors, the floor, even the door knobs.
Except for the windows, 68 seriously ?! Can’t wait to see your DIY projects and get a few more ideias for my own house :)
    Congratulations!

Thank you, Fatima! We’re so lucky that a lot of the period features are still intact. The ceilings are absolutely amazing (we’ll share all as soon as I can find the camera).

Of all those numbers it’s the 68 windows which have me gobsmacked. Good lord! So happy for you two!

Thank you so much, Susan! Admittedly, there are so many windows because a lot of them are double (one inner and one outer window) but either way it’s a huge amount – not looking forward to cleaning!

It’s just over 1700 square foot which is the biggest places we’ve ever lived!

I’ll probably sound crazy or creepy (or both!) sitting here across the t’interweb but I am so pleased that it’s all worked out for you guys and you’re finally in your new home. Plus I’m damn excited to follow along all of the epic projects and DIY’ing you undertake as they unfold! I can’t get over the 68 windows. 68!

Haha, it’s not creepy at all, Lucy! It’s kind of crazy of us to share so much of our lives on the internet for everyone to see!
It’s definitely been a stressful few months but the move couldn’t have worked out better. The removal guys were fab and everything really came together on the day.
We can’t wait to start DIYing and already have sooo much planned!

Ps. You’re right about the windows. I had to double check that I counted right! This apartment is so much bigger than we’re used to – Jan even got lost yesterday morning ;).
