Sorry about our recent stint of absence. The last few weeks around here have been absolutely manic and while a mad private life is no excuse for not blogging, it kind of ended up taking over everything. Thank you so much to those of you who sent us kind messages of concern about out lack of blogging. Everything’s fine, we’ve just been really busy.
My sister, brother-in-law and two gorgeous little nephews visited us for two weeks over Easter, pretty much straight after they left we spend a week in London and now we’re just back from a short break in Germany.
London as always was well worth a visit. For us it’s only two hours away by train, so we can’t resist popping down every now and then. As we’ve already been far too many times to even count, we usually skip most of the typical touristy destinations and spend time ticking boxes like visiting West Elm for the first time or stopping by the Little Greene Paint showroom.
Having said that, it’s almost impossible to travel around London without passing the odd site and soaking up the sunshine and atmosphere, too. All in all we had a great few days – even if the coincided with the tube strike!
We’re now trying to slowly get back into our regular Monday to Thursday posting routine, but it may take us a while to get back into the swing of things and tackle about a load of half-finished projects.
Having had a break from DIY and blogging we’re invigorated and motivated to tackle a bunch of new projects and improve a few things around here.
Have you been away recently? Do you also find that you sometimes have so much to do that you don know where to start? What do you do to keep motivated? Do you also find that a few days away are great to inspire you and keep you motivated?
Having a break from DIY is so important every now and then!
We’d not really planned a break, but having one made us realize how much we did actually need one!

I love your photos of London! I’ve not been for years and you’ve made me want to go again. Looking forward to see what projects you have in store.
Thanks Nadine! London is always worth a visit…maybe not during a tube strike though! ;-)
