The main project that we are working on still isn’t complete. We are slowly getting there, but our heat gun broke last week, so it will take us a bit longer to complete than expected. Watch this space…
We have also been trying to finish loads of the little jobs that we have started, but never seemed to get round to completing. These are just some of them.
1. Living room pendant lamp
We told you about installing our new living room lamp a while ago. You can read more about it here. We love the pendant, the only problem was that we mustn’t have connected it properly and up till now, it hasn’t actually worked. Now, almost two months later, we have refitted the lamp and amazingly it now works.
2. Pictures that just won’t stay straight
We have this group of Kandinsky inspired canvases hung on our dining room wall. We love them, but they seem to have a life of their own and just don’t want to hang straight.
To make them stay in place, we stuck a small piece of rolled up masking tape behind the canvas.
It’s not visible and strong enough to keep the picture from slipping around. – so quick and easy, but very effective.
3. Filling the gap around the letterbox
We fitted the inside cover of our letter box quite a while ago, but still need to fill the small gap around it. Although it’s only October it’s already ridiculously cold and we are trying to finish the jobs that will improve our house insulation and keep down our heating bills.
4. Painting the front door
We painted the front door a while ago (you can read about it here), but a few small areas that still need touching up.
5. Adjusting cupboard doors
This painted Ikea Ivar unit in our office works well, but… since painting and putting it together, we have just haven’t got round to adjusting the cupboard doors to close properly. It’s just one of those things that seem to get forgotten about because it still works, even if it isn’t perfect.
It only took about 5 minutes to adjust the doors, but it makes the cupboard look so much better.
There are of course about a million other little jobs that still need completing, Are there any quick and easy house updates that you have recently completed? Or are you more like us and have a load of jobs that you just don’t seem to get round to?
