Better late than never, we’ve finally completed our Halloween mantel and this year, we’ve decided to go for an all black theme.
It’s all nothing too exciting and mainly made up of things that we either already owned or quickly made ourselves.
The black wreath is made out of crepe paper that I stuck to a ring cut out of some cardboard, we made the Bloktagon candles a few weeks ago and the Halloween themed book covers are the same ones that we used last year.
A few new little additions for this year are the picture frame (Kvill from Ikea) and the rather mean looking skull. Sticking to our all black theme, we painted everything with a really matt black paint. We didn’t want anything too shiny and cheap looking – I couldn’t resist adding just a bit of glitter to the skull though!
As we’re not having a party, that’s pretty much it for this year. Decorating sometimes just seems a bit wasted on just the two of us.
Are you decorating your home for Halloween or are you already thinking ahead to your Christmas decorations?

how did you make the skull
Christine says
The skull was a cheap one that I bought (I think at ASDA) and painted with chalkboard paint and then covered in glitter.

I love how chic Halloween can look when you stick to a monochrome palette. It’s absolutely gorgeous.
Christine says
Thanks Magali! I was worried it was a bit too boring.
