We’re still busy working towards completing the projects we’ve planned for 2013 (you can see the full list here) and we’ve even managed to tick two boxes – restoring our staircase and installing a new water mains connection.
We’ve also started working on overhauling the second bedroom and rebuilding the garden wall. There is still a long way to go and a lot to do if we want to complete every goal we’ve set ourselves, but it looks like we’re on the right track.
Although it’s finally starting to warm up here in the UK, we’re already thinking ahead to the colder times, which I’m sure will be here sooner than expected. One of the things on our long project list and something we’d love to have is a wood burning stove in the dining room.
Before you get all excited, we don’t have a stove yet, but while we were scouring our local Antique and Reclamation centre last weekend we came across this lovely basket which we think will be perfect so store a load of logs for our new wood burner.
We know that we’re getting ahead of ourselves, but we just couldn’t resist, especially as it was a bargain at just £35.
Until we have a wood burner and some logs, we’re going to use the basket for some extra bedroom storage.
It’s a bit on the large size for our bedroom, but as it’s only a temporary solution we don’t really mind.
Do you have experience with wood burners? Do they really live up to what they promise? Do you also use baskets and boxes as pretty storage solutions?
