The first winter in our new house was extremely cold. In fact, it was so bad, that Christine got chilblains on her toes! One of the first things we did to tackle the cold, was to install insulation under our suspended timber floor in the living room. Thankfully we have a little dummy cellar that allowed us easy access to install the insulation boards from below so that we didn’t need to take up the floorboards. You can find general information about insulating under floorboards here. We ... Read the Post

Oh, What A Feeling, We’re Taking Down The Ceiling
It was Jan’s birthday yesterday, so of course we spent the day parting ripping down the cellar ceiling! Yep, we really know how to party around here! It's something that we'd been putting off since moving in over 3 years ago, but it's just one of those jobs that we never seemed to get round to. Although we may not be able to quite compete with the 5 star luxury of these hotels, and I’m pretty sure my ... Read the Post
10 Home Improvement Projects To Try While You’re In Self-Isolation
With the rather scary events and weird toilet paper shortages going on around the world, we’re trying our best to keep level-headed and are normal life going on as much as possible. In an attempt to keep my mind off things, I’m in full-on DIY mode and am tackling lots of little projects that I’ve not been motivated to finish. I’d be lying if I said it was working 100% but keeping busy and ticking boxes is at least a bit distracting. Everyone has different ways of dealing with ... Read the Post
