Although we have been busy renovating our rooms, we are still in need of some new furniture, curtains, artwork and just general stuff. Everywhere is quite bare and seems like we have just moved in. So, for some window shopping, inspiration and maybe the odd bargain we headed off to guess where…Ikea of course!
For a change, the sun has been shining, so I couldn’t help having a look at the garden furniture. Ever since seeing these Arholma sofas at our neighbours, we have been desperate to have some, too. They look like really expensive designer models, but come with a more affordable price tag.
We love these Åryd candlesticks. I’m sure that they would look great on our living room fireplace surround. They come in loads of different sizes as well other colours and are really lovely and chunky.
When we told you about our master bedroom and bedroom furniture makeover, we mentioned that we are considering replacing the current chest of drawers with something higher. This Hemnes chest of drawers would be ideal. To go with the colours we would buy it in white, but then maybe exchange the cupboard knobs with something a bit more fun and funky. I also love the lamp on the chest of drawers.
It’s called Åsele and has this fantastic chunky base. Just like in the display, we would probably place it on the chest of drawers in the bedroom. It has a dimmer function, so would be perfect for some mood lighting.
But, the real reason that I went to Ikea was to look for some curtains for the living room. We have been living with these awful orange-yellow things for much too long.
I already had a peak on the Internet to see what is on offer. I quite like these plain white Vivan curtains. At only £10 for the pair you can’t really do anything wrong.
As usual at Ikea, I couldn’t help getting slightly distracted and also found these Renate Ljuv patterned curtains. You can’t really tell on the picture, but the pattern is actually not printed on – it’s transparent.
I also like these Hedda Blad curtains. They are the same material as the Vivan curtains, but have a bit of a pattern which would probably be good in the living room as everything else is very plain. –
I love Pax. You just can’t beat if for clever clothes storage. I would love a walk in wardrobe (with clothes and shoes to match) but this is definitely the next best thing!
In the end, I did buy some curtains. They still need hanging up and will also need shortening, but you will have to come back on Monday to see the result!
