Admittedly we are not big on New Year’s resolutions, but sharing our plans with all of you will maybe make us stick to a few of our resolutions for a change. We have lots planned for the coming year so setting ourselves some goals probably isn’t a bad idea.
#1 Finish Projects Before Starting New Ones It sometimes seems like we have started about a million different projects without actually finishing any of them. Sometimes the temptation to start something new is just too great to resist. By now, we should have learned that it’s never just a matter of “we’ll quickly just do this” or “we’ll quickly just finish that”. If there is one project that is proof of us underestimating the time that things takes it has to be our epic staircase restoration.
We promise to finally finish the project very soon!
#2 Be More Patient
This kind of goes in hand with our first resolution. Sometimes things just take longer than expected, especially as I hate cutting corners. There are so many things in our house that need repairing, restoring, replacing and refurbishing, that it’s difficult not to want to do everything at once. This might be a difficult one for me, but I promise to try!
#3 Stick To Our Blogging Schedule Our general aim is to post 4 times a week, usually Mondays –Thursdays. We sometimes find it difficult to juggle blogging, our DIY efforts, work and just everyday life. The idea is to be more organized and plan ahead in order to stay on top of things.
#4 Plan Ahead We have so much to do in our house that we sometimes have to sit down to stop our heads spinning. There are so many projects that depend on others being finished first, we have loads of ideas for projects we would like to do and even more projects that are in need of desperate attention. I’ve started working on the list of all lists, which will hopefully include everything that needs doing in the house. Hopefully this will give us an overview of what needs doing. We’ll let you know about our plans for this year, soon!
#5 Improve Blog With no previous blogging experience before starting Little House On The Corner about 6 months ago, it has definitely been a steep learning curve. We have come a long way, but still have a lot to learn. There are lots of things we’d like to improve, change and add to the blog and hope to implement some of our ideas this year. We’re still very much at the beginning of our journey and are keen to try new things. If you have any suggestions we’d love to hear from you!
Do you believe in New Year’s resolutions? Have you made any? Or already broken some of your resolutions?
