Last week we managed to buy these vintage teak G Plan nest of tables on eBay.
And this weekend we finally got to pick them up! At only £65 they are definitely a bargain. We are planning to put them next to the 2-seater sofa in the living room. This is the table that’s there at the moment.
We weren’t too sure if the new tables would fit, but luckily they just squeeze into the small space between the sofa and wall.
The new tables are actually slightly smaller than the one that was there before, so work better in the space. At the moment we are thinking about painting them. We already have the oak surround and the sanded pine floor and think that adding a third type of wood might be too much. We want things to go together but at the same time not to be too matchy-matchy.
We know it may be slightly controversial to paint original vintage furniture, but we want the tables to match our home and style. After all, the paint can be stripped off again in the future if we change our minds.
We’re not sure what colour to paint them yet, let us know if you have any ideas or suggestions.
